- -----------------------------------------------------------------
- BY
- POTOMAC PACIFIC ENGINEERING INC.
- P.O. BOX 2027
- GAITHERSBURG, MARYLAND 20879
- -----------------------------------------------------------------
- NOTE:
- Each Program and the Manual is Coprighted 1984 by Patomic Pacific
- Engineering Inc. These Programs are not sold. It is licensed
- "FREE"to all users with restrictions.
- PLEASE READ PAGES 26 AND 27 OF MANUAL.
- -----------------------------------------------------------------
- The Program contains 4 DSDD diskettes.
- DISK 1 = Database Programs.
- DISK 2 = Program Data Disk and Manual on Disk.
- DISK 3 = Spreadsheet Programs.
- DISK 4 = Expert System Programs.
-
- The Archives have been packaged using the Public Domain Program
- ARC.EXE. This program must be used to unpack the Program into
- usable form.
-
-
- The Complete Program contains 4 sub .ARC files plus this file
- DBSSTEEL.TXT.
- 1. DBSTEEL1.ARC = original DISK 1
- 2. DBSTEEL2.ARC = original DISK 2
- 3. DBSTEEL3.ARC = original DISK 3
- 4. DBSTEEL4.ARC = original DISK 4
- 5. DBSSTEEL.TXT = This instructional File
-
- It is suggested that each sub .ARC file be individually broken
- down using ARC.EXE and then copied to individual DSDD diskettes.
- This procedure will then bring the Program back to its original
- form as delivered. Because of the extremely large size of each
- individual .ARC file, it is impossible to break some of them down
- using a 360 drive. It is suggested to use a "Large Workarea" of
- a "Hard Drive".
-
- -----------------------------------------------------------------
- Please NOTE the following regarding Manual Printing:
-
- The manual is included on the disk number 2 (DBSTEEL2.ARC). The
- manual is a "WORDSTAR" file named MASTER.TXT. You can either
- print the manual out using Wordstar or by using the Program
- PRINTMAN. The program PRINTMAN is also on disk number 2. The
- manual is about 55 pages long if printed out using Wordstar.
-
- If you do not have Wordstar then you will have to print the
- manual using the BASIC program PRINTMAN. The program converts
- the Wordstar file to the correct characters and prints them on
- your printer. If you use this program to print the manual there
- will be no page numbers, top margin, bottom margin or left margin
- on your paper (these are put in by Wordstar).
- 1. Load MS-DOS or PC-DOS.
- 2. Load your basic language.
- 3. Put disk number 2 in the default disk drive. The default disk
- drive is usually disk drive "A" unless you change it.
- 4. Make sure your printer is on with at least 55 pages of paper
- ready.
- 5. Load the program PRINTMAN.
- LOAD "PRINTMAN"
- 6. Run the program.
- RUN
- 7. The program may end with an input past end error after
- printing out the entire manual. This is normal.
- It is suggested to use a dot matrix printer. It takes
- approximately 20 minutes to print the manual with a 160 character
- per second printer. It takes over 2 hours with a 15 character
- per second printer. Using the program PRINTMAN will also
- increase the time.
- ------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- NOTE:
- Additional System Design Notes are included on DISK 2 (DBSTEEL2.ARC)
- and includes data on COMPILING the program, The Main Flowchart and
- Testing the Program.
- These Notes are in the file PRTEXTRA.BAS
